THE DETAILS THAT MATTER
Protect the business you’re building.
Review the actual operations covered by the policy—not just the trade name on your license. Residential, commercial, new construction and remodeling can be treated differently.
Match limits and additional insured endorsements to the contract before the job starts. A certificate alone does not add coverage.
Look closely at subcontractor conditions and exclusions for roofing, height, residential work, water damage or designated operations.
Read the coverage boundaries.
General liability generally does not cover employee injuries, damage to your own faulty work, business vehicles or stolen tools. Defense costs, deductibles and exclusions depend on the policy.
