COVERAGE, EXPLAINED

Business Owners Policy For California Contractors

A business owners policy combines eligible business property, general liability and business interruption coverage. For a contractor, eligibility depends on the trade, size and operations. Jesse will help you compare the package with separate policies.

THE DETAILS THAT MATTER

Property and liability, reviewed together.

Review your office, shop, contents and business income exposure. A BOP is not the same as builder’s risk for a project under construction.

Describe tools moving between jobs and equipment in transit. Inland marine coverage may be needed beyond the property protection in the package.

Compare limits, deductibles and optional endorsements rather than assuming every BOP includes the same protection.

Read the coverage boundaries.

Workers’ compensation, commercial auto and professional liability usually require separate coverage. Flood, earthquake and cyber exposures need their own review.

A common question

No. It combines selected coverages for eligible businesses. Your employees, vehicles, professional services and projects can still need separate policies.
