THE DETAILS THAT MATTER
Protect the project while it takes shape.
Define who purchases the policy and who has an insurable interest: owner, general contractor or developer.
Review the project value, existing structure, construction type, start date and expected completion date before work begins.
Discuss materials in transit, temporary storage, testing, occupancy and extensions when a project takes longer than planned.
Read the coverage boundaries.
Builder’s risk does not replace contractor liability or workers’ compensation. Flood, earthquake, faulty workmanship and existing structures require particular attention.
